  • 4 Yukon Gold potatoes, diced

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and brown the beef cubes in batches. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add onions and garlic to the pot; sauté until translucent (about 3 minutes).
  3. Return the beef to the pot, then add beef broth, carrots, potatoes, and thyme. Bring to a simmer for about 30 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, cheese, and herbs. Gradually fold in milk until just combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling batter on top of simmering stew. Cover and steam for 15-20 minutes without lifting the lid.
