  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for frosting)
  • Green food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in cocoa powder until well combined.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vanilla until pale and fluffy. Gradually mix in the melted butter-cocoa mixture.
  4. Sift together flour and salt; gently fold into the batter until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. For frosting, beat softened butter with powdered sugar until fluffy. Gradually add milk until desired consistency is reached. Mix in peppermint extract and food coloring if using.
  7. Once brownies are cool, frost generously, cut into squares, and serve.
