Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Add frothy yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients; mix until just combined.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl and let rise for one hour or until doubled.
  5. While rising, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter for the filling.
  6. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly over it. Roll tightly into a log and slice into equal pieces.
  7. Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. While baking, prepare frosting by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  10. Drizzle frosting over warm rolls before serving.
