Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 French baguette (about 10 oz.)
  • 8 oz. sirloin or ribeye steak
  • 8 oz. cremini or button mushrooms
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for drizzling)
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler. Diagonally slice the baguette into ½-inch thick pieces and brush each slice with olive oil. Broil until golden brown.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil and sauté sliced mushrooms for about 5 minutes until golden.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. In another pan, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then cook for about 4 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let it rest before slicing thinly against the grain.
  5. In a bowl, combine sautéed mushrooms, sliced steak, and chopped parsley.
  6. Generously top each toasted baguette slice with the steak-mushroom mixture and drizzle with extra olive oil before serving warm.
