Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Caramel Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Stir gently until sugar dissolves, then let it boil undisturbed until golden brown. Remove from heat immediately.
  2. Mold Preparation: Pour warm caramel into molds or ramekins, swirling to coat the bottom evenly. Allow it to cool slightly.
  3. Create the Flan Mixture: Blend sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth (about 20 seconds).
  4. Pour into Molds: Gently pour the mixture over the cooled caramel in each mold.
  5. Bake in a Water Bath: Place molds in a deep baking dish filled with hot water halfway up their sides. Bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for 50-60 minutes until set.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let flans cool completely before refrigerating for at least four hours. To serve, run a knife around edges and invert onto plates.
